As Branson celebrates its 50th year of live music shows, the quality and variety of those shows has become legendary. In the summer of 2009, for a limited time only, Branson tourism will have a chance to center its focus on Branson’s newest show, “Rock U Mentally LIVE,” a show designed and produced for kids and families. Described as an original “hip educational musical adventure for kids of all ages,” the show will be performing a limited engagement at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater starting on July 16 and running through August 15, 2009.

A recent on line article in the “Branson Courier” entitled “Original unique new Branson kid’s show will “Rock U Mentally LIVE!’” reports that the show was developed from a concept originated by Bucky Herd, well known local Branson entertainer, and one of the “Blues Brothers” in the Legends in Concert Show playing at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theatre. Chris Skillern, another well known Branson entertainer, has also played a major part in the development and production of the show. Skillern describes his involvement as “A labor of love for kids everywhere…”
