BRANSON, Mo. It’s official, the Osmond’s will be returning to Branson again in 2009. The Osmond’s will be appearing in the “Osmond Theatre,” which is owned by Jimmie Osmond. According to Nicole, a spokesperson for Mike Pitman, the contact person for Nolan Fogle, who is managing the theatre, the Osmond Brothers (Osmond’s) are scheduled to return for a limited engagement at the theatre from Sep. 4 through Dec. 12.
Nicole said the Osmond’s would be performing one show a day during September and October at 8 p.m. During November and December they are scheduled to perform one show a day on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and two shows a day on Tuesday and Thursday, one at 10:00 a.m. and one at 8:00 p.m.
The schedule on the Osmond web site, http://www.osmondstheater.com/tours.htm, containing the schedule of the Osmond Brothers in 2009, shows a different combination of the brothers at different events. According to the schedule the “Osmond Brother’s” scheduled for the Branson performances are Jay, Jimmie, and Wayne. That same schedule indicates there will be no Branson performances between Oct. 23 and Nov. 3 and that the Osmond Brothers will be performing in Bryant, Indiana on Oct. 24 and in Zanesville, OH on Oct. 25.
She went on to say, although she didn’t have the exact schedule, that it was anticipated the theatre would be featuring the “Magnificent Variety Show” starting in the spring. According to Nicole, the cast of the Magnificent Variety Show is made up of the same performers who made up the cast of the Magnificent 7 Variety Show that played at the White House Theatre in 2008.
Jimmie Osmond, the youngest Osmond is the owner of the theatre which was purchased in 1992 and originally operated as the “Osmond Family Theatre.” Although the theatre has been leased to the “Legends in Concert” show, which is moving to the Dick Clark American Bandstand theatre in 2009, the Osmond’s have continued to perform on almost an annual basis at other Branson venues, most notably, the Branson Variety Theatre.
